HD – A4VSO – Variable Displacement Pump
HD-A4VSO Axial piston pump in swash plate design for hydrostatic drives in open circuit operation. The flow is proportional to the input drive speed and displacement. By adjusting the swash plate angle it is possible to infinitely vary the output flow.

Working principle – A4VSO Variable Displacement Pump
The A4VSO Variable Displacement Pump functions through the axial piston principle using swashplate technology. The pump contains multiple pistons which are positioned in circular formation inside the cylinder block. The rotating cylinder block receives power from the input shaft. The cylinder block pistons perform a back-and-forth motion inside their chambers because of adjustable swashplate angular positioning.
The swashplate tilt enables pistons to extend their movement which results in drawing and pushing greater amounts of hydraulic fluid with each rotation. The pump’s displacement control depends on adjusting the swashplate angle to match system requirements for output flow. The pump does not displace fluid when the swashplate angle reaches its zero position because piston movement becomes nonexistent.
